The 2019 China International Travel Mart (CITM) is being held from Friday to Sunday in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, the event organizer said Thursday.

Representatives and exhibitors from 75 countries and regions will participate in the event.

Housing more than 3,800 booths in the exhibition area, exhibitors cover a wide range of fields including scenic spots, hotels, airlines, cruise lines, travel agencies and online travel platforms.

The fair sets up eight exhibition zones featuring themes including culture and tourism departments, domestic tourism enterprises, overseas tourism, cultural exhibitions and tourism products.

Founded in 1998, the CITM has grown into one of the largest and most influential tourism fairs in the Asia-Pacific region. Chinese made 149.72 million outbound international trips in 2018, up 14.7 percent from 2017, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
