A science expedition in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region resulted in the discovery of a new world-class cave hall, Napo Tiankeng Group, this November. The number of caves there is 19, second only to Leye Tiankeng Group in Baise City, Guangxi.

Caves are formed as limestone dissolve in the karst landforms. Guangxi is hailed as the cave kingdom and home to several giant cave halls. The depth of the newly-found Napo cave hall is over 100 meters. At the bottom, lie precious plants like Toddy palm and Manglietia aromatica.
