Sasanqua camellia never disappoints you during harsh winter

November marks the transition from autumn to winter, as the weather turns colder, plants gradually fade and wither. It seems like this month is not generally associated with bright colors. However, for those who plant the sasanqua camellias in their gardens will welcome the exquisitely blossoming camellia flowers.

Sasanqua camellia is an evergreen shrub that is native to Japan. It has a long cultivation history in Japan, and the beautiful flower attracted many travelers from around the world and was soon introduced in countries like China, the U.S., and Australia.

Sasanqua camellia is known for its lovely and graceful flower that has a pleasing fragrance. Though the flower is not as large and showy as the real camellia flowers, it is more delicate and tender, especially in the beginning of winter. The flower is mostly single or semi-double when blossoming, and the color ranges from white to pink in different shades.

Sasanqua camellia can survive in extreme cold weather, however it can do better with more sunlight and well-drained acidic soil. Its blooming period could last for three month, from November to March. Hence, take your time expecting and enjoying the beautiful flowers it provides you.
