Art knows no borders, and the ongoing "Bridging Asia-Europe" exhibition at the Parkview Museum in Beijing proves it.

The exhibition series was launched in 2017, with the previous two installments presenting works from a global and multicultural perspective. The third exhibition opened in early November and display art pieces from four different countries.

Productions from four countries

Artworks from Giuseppe Gallo of Italy, Hubert Scheibl of Austria, Ling Jian of China and Milenko Prvacki of Singapore together show a colorful and encyclopedic world for visitors.

These artists have used different ways of expression in trying to present a cultural bridge between contemporary eastern and western countries.

Ling Jian, the Chinese artist who graduated from the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University in 1986, was known for his surreal portraits of women. He is one of the most international painters in China, and his works have been exhibited in Singapore, Bangkok, Germany, Amsterdam, Italy, the United States and other countries.

He was influenced by traditional western portraits but still focused on the issues of identity and female beauty within Chinese society. Ling said his works fuses Chinese traditional culture and contemporary art.

Lorand Hegyi, the exhibition's curator – who's regarded as one of Europe's foremost curators and art historians – said that the four artists shed light on authentic narratives based on a multiplicity of readings and interpretations.

This exhibition will run through to April 30 next year.
