A red panda was spotted enjoying a feast of berries in a forest park in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday. The adorable creature was captured on camera by local forest staff who were patrolling in the Labahe Scenic Spot near Ya'an City. The cub can be seen happily eating berries as it clutches onto tree branches with its paws, and was later spotted roaming around and sniffing out the sweetest tasting berries.

The red panda is native to the eastern Himalayas and southwest China. It is a totally different species from the giant panda, however, they are both endangered. With a global population of less than 10,000, they are listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List, and come under second-class state protection in China. Habitat loss and fragmentation are the main threats to red pandas.
