Popular short-form video app TikTok is now the subject of a U.S. national security investigation. The inquiry is looking into the acquisition by the app's parent company, ByteDance, of the music app 'Musical.ly.' According to reports, the U.S. Treasury’s Committee on Foreign Investment is now investigating it as a potential national security risk. To CGTN, Cao Sanxing, vice director of the Collaborative Innovation Center at the Communications University of China, said that the essence of this case isn't related to "security."
