An annual ice sculpture exhibition by Chinese artists kicked off over the weekend in Galveston, an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas.

This year's event is themed "Christmas Around the World." Visitors may discover the Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and other world-known attractions in forms of ice sculptures.

The ice sculptures were crafted by a team of 30 skilled ice carvers from Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, with 6,000 pieces of ice weighing two million pounds (about 907,000 kilograms).

The exhibition will run until January 12, 2020, covering Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.
