The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will not offer anything for U.S. President Donald Trump to brag about without receiving anything in return, a statement on its news agency KCNA said on Monday.

Meanwhile, the DPRK is no longer interested in holding another "fruitless" summit with the United States, according to the statement by Foreign Ministry adviser Kim Kye Gwan, urging Washington to drop its "hostile policy" against Pyongyang.

"We no longer take any interest in such fruitless summits," the adviser said in the statement. "We will not give the U.S. president anything to boast of without getting anything in return, and we need to get the fair price for what President Trump has boasted as his achievements."

"If the U.S. does not really want to let go of its dialogue with us, it should make a decision to withdraw its hostile policy of viewing us as an enemy," the adviser added.

'See you soon!'

On Sunday, Trump urged the DPRK's leader Kim Jong Un to "act quickly" to reach a deal with the United States, in a tweet weighing in on Pyongyang's criticism of his political rival, former vice president Joe Biden.

In his tweet, Trump told Kim, "You should act quickly, get the deal done," and hinted at a further meeting, signing off "See you soon!"

The DPRK said on Thursday it had turned down a U.S. offer for fresh talks ahead of a year-end deadline Pyongyang has set for Washington to show more flexibility in negotiations.

U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper announced in Thailand earlier on Sunday that joint U.S., the Republic of Korea (ROK) military drills would be postponed in an effort to bolster the stalled peace push.

KCNA in a commentary on Friday lashed out at Biden for insulting Kim, calling Biden a "rabid dog" that needs to be put down.
