Lenovo TechWorld 2019 highlighted "Building a New Connected World of Smart Devices and Services" amid industrial transformation and intelligentization.
Lenovo launched a foldable PC during the event. The company's plan calls for ThinkPadX1, a 5G-enabled foldable computer - the world's first.
Meanwhile, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the brand's first foldable phone - Moto Razr, with a design similar to the older V3 model.
The concept of foldable products aims at opening up a new way of man-machine interaction. Rihui Tian, vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager responsible for product development of Data Intelligence Business Group, said Lenovo is a smart manufacturer and has overhauled the global value chain with smart technology and data.

"We've built a global data platform. We have tens of thousands of people working on data on a daily basis, and more than a thousand engineers developing smart applications day in and day out. These practices make us understand other companies' problems," Tian said.
Lenovo is combating a slowing global PC market with value-add smart services. It targets companies that need a face lift in their manufacturing infrastructure, big data platform and automation systems.
"We've seen companies in China going smart. But some of them didn't lay a good foundation of manufacturing infrastructure and information technology. That's why they are bumping into troubles while applying automation," he said.
Tian noted Lenovo is working with top automation solution providers like Schneider. And the company is investing in start-ups with good technology and know-how in data and automation. SemiDrive is the one that Lenovo mainly focuses on. The tech startup also showcased Smart Internet of Things (SIoT) during the event which is applied in safer and smarter automobiles.
