Hidden in the Vatnajokull glacier of Iceland, naturally formed ice caves have attracted countless visitors to take a glance at the marvelous natural artwork. A photographer captured those ice caves over the years. His photos reveal an astonishing change that took place over time.

Natural ice caves are formed when liquid water runs under or through a glacier, melting the ice and create a cave within the glacier. The reason that ice caves change is because of the temperature changes in different seasons. Cold weather will cause the ice to contract and further harden, while warm weather will make the surface to melt a little bit. This process repeats itself as the season and weather changes, causing the fantastic alterations of the ice caves in Iceland.
