Large flocks of migratory birds arrive in east China

As winter approaches, large flocks of migratory birds arrive at Hongze Lake's wetlands near Suqian, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province. Species spotted in the area include mallard ducks, swans and white spoonbills.

Migratory birds usually fly south for winter. When the weather gets warmer in spring, they fly back to the northern breeding areas for reproduction.
