China says it "strongly condemns and resolutely opposes" the passing of a bill on Hong Kong in the U.S. senate. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act "disregards the facts, confuses right and wrong, violates common sense of justice, shows double standards, and openly intervenes in China's internal affairs".
