The world pays attention to China-U.S. relations, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan said, adding that bilateral exchanges of political parties, think tanks, economic and civil organizations will help to build a stable, rational and healthy China-U.S. relationship.

The vice president made the remarks when meeting a delegation of U.S. Democratic and Republican Party leaders who attend the 11th China-U.S. Political Party Leaders Dialogue in Beijing on Wednesday.

Wang said that the two sides should promote bilateral relations from a broader historical perspective and deepen understanding of each other's history and current development.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties between China and the United States have moved forward on the whole despite a few obstacles, he said.

The delegates, including former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, as a representative of the Democratic Party, and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson, as a representative of the Republican Party, said that the stable development of bilateral relations benefits the two peoples, and they are willing to play an active role in keeping active communication and frank dialogue with the Chinese side, and together find ways to properly handle frictions and differences and promote the development of the bilateral relations.

The 11th China-U.S. Political Party Leaders Dialogue, which concluded Tuesday, was attended by some 50 representatives from political parties, think tanks and businesses of the two countries.
