Gaps between parties hinder assembling new government in Israel
05:21

In Israel, efforts at forming a government continue to go in circles. Benjamin Netanyahu's rival Benny Gantz's window to build a new government and become prime minister is due to expire at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday. Even with allied parties, both Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party and Gantz's centrist Blue and White coalition fell short of 61 seats, the number needed to form a majority in parliament. Gantz's options are limited as he tries to avoid a third general election this year.
