The Hong Kong government has expressed strong opposition to a pair of bills approved by the U.S. Congress. A statement published by the SAR says the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act and other bills affecting the city interfere in its internal affairs. It also says the bills send the wrong signal to violent protesters and will not help end the unrest. Analyst Tom Fowdy gives his take.
