The Communist Party of China (CPC) is looking to form more cohesive relationships with other global political parties. More than 200 representatives of political parties from over 50 countries have gathered in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province, to learn more about the core values of the CPC.

Dejan Levanic is the general secretary of Slovenia Social Democrats. He believes this event is a great opportunity: "It's not one line or one political party or one idea. It's about collecting all ideas of different parties from the left to right.This is a good opportunity for us to work together."

The fourth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC just concluded in China. The attendees were briefed about what came out of these meetings on Wednesday afternoon. Many guests said they were impressed by China's vision for the future.

Amirah Kaca Sumarto is a member of the Party of Functional Groups in Indonesia and also the vice chair of Young Women's Organization. "What I learned from the CPC and the Chinese governance model is how a country can really dig down its characteristic and find its own model of what works for them instead of replicating or using prescription from other countries, which doesn't work because no country is the same," she said.

She also feels excited to see how China will continue to modernize and do better, saying "China is not complacent about its current condition and it continues to formulate and reform its system. I think it's the right thing to do in the ever-changing world. A system and a government need to be very adaptive."

The theme of the event focuses on the mission of political parties, which is to work toward the happiness of the people. That's what the Communist Party of China has been doing. Many guests speak highly of the mission.

"It's the only goal. Because all the political parties should have to work for the happiness of the people, for their welfare and high quality of life. And this is the main thing that all political parties should do," said Dejan Levanic.

"All parties in the world, no matter what ideology or countries, always aim for the happiness of the people. Not only economic growth but well-being and happiness of the people. I think all parties have that mission," Amirah Kaca Sumarto added.

The three-day event was hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. The attendees will also visit key industrial and residential areas of Nanchang and other cities in Jiangxi province over the coming days.
