Directors, writers and actors are coming together to bring theatrical arts to Xichang, a mountainous city in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The Daliangshan International Theatre Festival features theater productions from eight countries, in addition to plays, dialogues, talks and workshops. Initiated by 20 artists from seven countries, the festival opened with a dramatic showing of "The Prince of Lanling." The show depicts Prince Lanling, a famous general, who disguises himself as an effeminate man after witnessing the assassination of his father. The festival runs until December 1.
