More and more young people are making healthcare a priority as seen in their increased consumption of healthcare products, according to premium nutrition and wellness company H&H Group.

"Consumers are getting younger and younger… proactively taking care of their health, from a lifestyle perspective because they want to live a healthy life," said H&H Group CEO Laetitia Garnier.

Founded in 1999, H&H carries brands such as Biostime, Swisse Wellness, Healthy Times, Dodie, Good Goût and Aurelia Probiotic Skincare.

Speaking to CGTN, Garnier said that China has become a huge market for wellness and healthcare products.

Garnier noted that the Chinese government, which has been advocating healthier living with initiatives such as the Healthy China 2030 road map, has also supported the country's expansion from being purely an exporter to an importer of high-quality products.

"What we are really impressed with is the opening up of that cross-border e-commerce channel from the Chinese government since 2015. We see the government being more and more accommodating in helping companies import their products," she said.

Garnier added that China was the perfect ground for research and development (R&D) for H&H, with an R&D base in Guangzhou. "Chinese consumers are always very curious to try the latest innovation. So we always need to challenge ourselves with new products."

"Every time we have a new product we start by launching it in China," said Garnier.
