U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has signed two pieces of legislation supportive of protesters in Hong Kong. The two bills, approved by both houses of Congress, have now been sent to the White House where President Donald Trump is expected to sign them into law. One bill is the "Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act," which would mandate Washington to "monitor" Hong Kong's autonomy. The second bill would ban the export of certain crowd-control munitions to Hong Kong authorities.
