South Korea has made the surprise announcement that it will not terminate its military intelligence-sharing pact with Japan for now. The pact was set to expire on November 23.

The news comes as foreign ministers from the Group of 20 nations are gathering in the central Japanese city of Nagoya. They plan to discuss topics including global governance and the promotion of free trade.
