Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), appeared in public to cast her vote in the 2019 District Council Ordinary Elections on Sunday. Afterwards, Lam appealed to residents to come out and vote, calling the district council elections "very important".
