Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp have both been inducted into the League Manager Association's (LMA) Hall of Fame, announced the LMA on Thursday.

They received the commemorative shields from Gareth Southgate and Sir Alex Ferguson in recognition of the historic achievements they have made in football management to date.

"It is an incredible honor to be a part of it, for the rest of my life and for generations, to be in this Hall of Fame in English football," said Guardiola.

"I think all the managers here that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame is because we were in incredible clubs with incredible players" he added.

Guardiola's team now has two titles in a row in the Premier League. The coach is aiming on repeating the success he had in the German League of three straight win with Bayern Munich.

Klopp's team in 2013, Borussia Dortmund, lost to Bayern Munich led by Guardiola that year in the UEFA Champions League Final, right before Guardiola left Munich for Manchester. Klopp, however, won the title in the following year defeating Chelsea by penalties. Klopp has had two final losses in the UEFA Europa League and one Champions League title with Liverpool since arrival in 2015.

"It's big, it's really big. When I first heard about it, I couldn't believe it," said Klopp.

"I've now been in England for a bit longer than four years and I've enjoyed each second, to be honest. I saw all the names with the pictures when I came in, it's really impressive. I don't often feel pride but, in this moment, I'm very proud because this is something really, really special."
