Koalas rescued from Australian bushfire receive treatment in hospital

Volunteers from the hospital have been working alongside National Parks and Wildlife Service crews searching for koalas following weeks of devastating bushfires across New South Wales and Queensland. /VCG Photo

Koalas rescued by them were sent to the hospital for treatment. The hospital has so far looked after 31 koalas by rehydrating them, examining them for burns and treating their injuries. /VCG Photo

An estimated million hectares of land has been burned by bushfires across Australia following catastrophic fire conditions in recent weeks, killing an estimated 1,000 koalas along with other wildlife. /VCG Photo
