Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka's newly elected president, is in New Delhi on his first official foreign visit. After talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India announced providing 50 million U.S. dollars worth of aid to Sri Lanka for fighting terrorism.
