Nine people, including two children, were killed on Saturday after a plane crashed shortly after takeoff in bad weather in the U.S. state of South Dakota, local media reported.

Pilatus PC-12 had 12 people on board when it crashed at about 12:30 p.m. local time, shortly after taking off from Chamberlain, about 140 miles west of Sioux Falls, Peter Knudson with the National Transportation Safety Board said.
