A road in a construction area for subway line 11 in south China's Guangzhou city collapsed on Sunday morning, engulfing a trash truck and an electric car, local transportation department confirmed. Three people were trapped, according to local media citing medical sources at the scene. Local officials are yet to confirm the number of people confined.  
The cause of the incident remains unclear.
