A renowned winter breakfast in north China –Tou Nao

China’s northern Shanxi Province is famous for a winter breakfast called Tou Nao, which literally means “head and brain”. It’s made of eight items, mainly mutton, Chinese yam, lotus root and yellow wine. The cuisine has a 400-year history, and many locals still believe that regular Tou Nao breakfast has health benefits.
