Chinese artists presented classical Peking Operas to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. A troupe of 65 people presented famous Peking Opera segments and the classical "Warrior Women of Yang's Family" from November 25 to 30. The masterpiece "Warrior Women of Yang" is a story about the steadfast loyalty and remarkable bravery of the Yang family. She Saihua, the 100-year-old great grandmother, leads the army to protect the country from invasion. The opera develops strong, intelligent and heroic female images, including Mu Guiying, a Mulan-like figure widely acknowledged by the Chinese. Meanwhile, the time was compressed to present an even intense plot in regard to Western viewing habits.
