Chinese President Xi Jinping Tuesday said that China will continue to adhere to reform and opening-up, and realize the Two Centenary Goals as scheduled.
The Chinese president made his remarks at the Great Hall of the People while meeting with foreign delegates who were in China to attend the 2019 Imperial Springs International Forum held in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, from December 1-2.

China is using its own practice to prove that a strong China will not pursue hegemony, said Xi and added this is primarily determined by China's 5,000-year-old history and cultural tradition.
The Chinese people have no gene for expansion and disagree with "zero-sum thinking," the Chinese president explained.
When it comes to international relations, China is willing to strengthen mutual understanding with other countries and achieve common prosperity, he added.

Xi also stressed that China's relations with the world are undergoing historic changes.
China is a major country with a population of 1.4 billion. Managing its own affairs well is its biggest contribution to the human society, the Chinese president pointed out and added China is also willing to bear more international obligations and responsibilities.
The world order has reached a crossroads, as we are facing an essential choice between multilateralism and unilateralism, Xi noted.
All countries should shoulder their respective responsibilities, carry out constructive dialogue, seek common ground while shelving differences, and uphold multilateralism, so as to build a community with a shared future for humanity, Xi urged.
