China is holding a "National Constitution Publicity Week" this week to mark the country's sixth National Constitution Day, which falls on Wednesday.
This year's campaign is the second of its kind and aims to promote the spirit of the Constitution and advance the modernization of China's system and capacity for governance.
The National Office for Law Popularization has produced 60 special programs featuring experts talking about the country's legal culture, and the use of social media platforms like WeChat and Weibo to increase public awareness about abiding by the law.
Justice Minister Fu Zhenghua said that promoting the Constitution is the top priority of law popularization activities. Since last year, authorities have organized nationwide activities related to "respecting, learning, safeguarding and abiding by the Constitution" in provinces like Shandong, Gansu and Jilin.
In Ningxia, lawyers have visited communities to talk to locals about the Constitution.
Authorities say they will expand their campaign to key groups like students in primary and secondary schools and government officials.
