The bills on Hong Kong that were signed by U.S. President Donald Trump in late November are designed to cause problems in China before the 2020 U.S. presidential election, said Stephen Perry, chairman of the 48 Group Club, a British business association. During an interview with China Central Television (CCTV), Perry pointed out that China seeks a better economy for its people, while the U.S. finds the change difficult to accept. He also called for an end to violence in Hong Kong so that discussions could take place for a long-term solution.
