How would China respond to criticisms of China-El Salvador relations?

Chinese President Xi Jinping met his Salvadoran counterpart Nayib Bukele in Beijing Tuesday afternoon. The two sides signed a range of cooperative documents in areas such as investment, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and technology. El Salvador is one of the latest out of the 180 countries that have established diplomatic ties with China. But several U.S. politicians have repeatedly cast the China-El Salvador diplomatic ties in a negative light. How would China respond to such criticism? Yang Zhimin, research fellow from the Institute of Latin American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gives his insights.
