Beijing has vociferously slammed the U.S. House of Representatives for passing The Uygur Act of 2019, a bill centered on China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying termed the American politicians "ignorant," who had never visited Xinjiang. She added the U.S. had forgotten its own history and poor human rights record.
