Police in Hong Kong, China's Special Administrative Region, seized dozens of bottles of "dangerous chemicals" near Shing Mun Reservoir on Thursday morning.

"Around 137 liters of corrosive chemicals were found. Initial investigation suggests that the chemicals were brought to the location for storage," a police officer told reporters.

It is suspected that these chemicals maybe related to the items which were earlier stolen from a laboratory at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), police said, adding that further investigation is currently underway.
