Jumble ice on the Yellow River
CGTN

The chill wave spreading across northern China has also affected China's mother river -- the Yellow River. The Hukou section of the river in Shanxi Province is covered with jumble ice, as if a giant white dragon is slowly moveing forward.

Jumble ice is a phenomenon that occurs when ice atop a river or other flowing body of water fractures due to the different flow rates beneath the ice.
