The East Turkistan Islamic Movement, or ETIM, is a shadowy Xinjiang-based group with ostensible ties to al-Qaeda. Leading ETIM member "Rozi" described their encounters with Osama bin Laden in 1997. During the encounter, members asked for specialized terrorist training and economic assistance.
