Online fundraising is not a new concept. While many such as the U.S.-based Kickstarter seek profit, Chinese organizations, Shuidichou and Aixinchou among others, say they're committed to charity. But there are concerns that the system is ripe for exploitation. Many donors say they're also worried their money won't be used for the intended purpose.
