A heartwarming scene of two golden snub-nosed monkeys embracing was captured recently in a natural reserve in northwest China's Gansu Province.
The footage caught by an infrared camera in late November showed two golden snub-nosed monkeys hugging each other for quite some time, trying to warm each other in the cold temperature.
In Baishuijiang Nature Reserve, the population of golden snub-nosed monkey has increased to more than 5,000 due to environment improvement. These monkeys, which are under the national first-class protection in China, can be often seen eating fruits and picking carefully through each other's hair in the nature reserve.
Covering about 200,000 hectares, Baishuijiang is home to 51 rare animal species, including ten on the top protection list, such as the giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, takin and leopard.
