Defending champions Guangdong Southern Tigers extended their winning streak at the Chinese Basketball Association to 10 games by smashing the Qingdao Eagles 136-112 on Saturday. Earlier, the Qingdao side started well and Jiao Hailong's three gave them a 22-13 lead.

In the second quarter, Marshon Brooks hit from distance to get Guangdong within two before a trey from Yi Jianlian tied it up at 41-41.

Sonny Weems drained three of his team-high 31 points as Southern Tigers took a 4-point lead. One of Brooks's five three pointers in the game made it 63-56 Guangdong at half-time.

Hu Mingxuan got in on the long ball act for an 11-point lead, and Weems subsequently had an easy finish to make it 91-77. The American found Yi for a dunk and the Chinese finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Reigning Finals MVP Yi added a more emphatic jam that got the bench and crowd going. Zhao Rui's three eventually sealed the 24-point victory for the league leaders and their 10th consecutive win.

In other games of the night, Guo Ailun scored 28 points as Liaoning beat Guangzhou 123-115. Yuan Shuai hit six three pointers as Shanxi cruised past Sichuan for their fifth win in a row to move to third place.
