The lights on what the Guinness Book of Records dubs the world's largest Christmas tree were turned on in Gubbio on Saturday evening.
Nearly 300 twinkling lights outline the shape of a Christmas tree on the slopes of the hill which rises behind the medieval town in central Italy.
