No violent terrorist attack for three consecutive years in Xinjiang

Officials from China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have been meeting the press in Beijing to talk about the region's stability and development. They gave key facts and figures, pointing out there has been no terrorist attack for three consecutive years thanks to efforts in fighting and preventing terrorism as well as improving people's well-being. Officials also said that respecting and protecting religious belief is a basic state policy. The region is governed by local representatives, with the heads of all levels of regional government drawn from the main ethnic groups. Another key fact is that in Xinjiang, 15-years of free education is provided from kindergarten to senior middle school level. At the press conference, the Chinese State Council Information Office also released a documentary that showed some terrorist attacks in Xinjiang in recent years.
