Dozens of residents of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) took out a rally in the city on Wednesday afternoon to urge the HKSAR government to enforce Article 23 of the Basic Law and protect the Hong Kong police and their families.
Gathered outside the HKSAR government headquarters, members of the rally vociferously opposed the idea of an independent Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is part of China and some separatists have seriously impacted safety conditions in the city, they said, lamenting how rioters had devastated the city with vandalism and other acts of violence.
Moreover, the residents submitted a petition calling for the HKSAR government to enhance patriotic education of Hong Kong's youth.
