In the Chinese Basketball Association, former Washington Wizards point guard, Chasson Randle was the stand out performer for Tianjin Pioneers in their victory against Sichuan Blue Whales. The 26-year-old had a team-high 28 points in the 98 to 94 win, just the side's third of the season. Sichuan's Courtney Fortson got a game-high 35 points.

Courtney Fortson put Sichuan ahead in the first quarter as Sichuan led 20-17. But Randle sparked life into the second. He was able to score four triples in a row to help the Pioneers come back to lead 49-40 into the break.

After the break, the Pioneers established a healthy advantage while Sichuan's Tyler Hansbrough kept attacking in the paint on his way to a 22 points and 12 rebounds double-double. Then the 2017 overseas MVP Fortson went coast to coast to tie things at 68. Sichuan retook the lead 73-68 into the final quarter.

But in the final frame, Tianjin fought back. First, Shi Deshuai's three got them within 2 points. Shi Yi was then left wide open to fire in the go-ahead basket from downtown.

Jin Xin found the bucket from the corner to open up a 9 points lead. It finished 98 to 94. Tianjin got their third win of the season and Sichuan continued 7th defeat in a row.

After 15 games, defending champions Guangdong led the standing with 14 wins, two ahead of Xinjiang in the second place. Beijing claimed the third place with 11 victories, while Shanxi, Guangsha, Liaoning and Jilin came 4th to 7th with 10. Zhejiang came 8th with 8.
