In December 2016, China launched the pilot project of East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation (EAPRC). It's a key element of China-led cooperation initiative on poverty reduction in East Asia.

China is using its experience of integrated village development and targeted poverty alleviation to aid six pilot villages in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, as part of three-year community-based poverty reduction cooperation with the three countries.

"In future exchanges in the field of international poverty reduction, we'll do more to share and communicate China's experience," said Tan Weiping, deputy director-general of International Poverty Reduction Center in China. He believes that China's experience in poverty reduction should be shared with other countries.

The eradication of poverty is a global concern. Through 40 years of reform and opening-up, China has significantly reduced poverty within its own borders. Could China's strategy of targeted poverty alleviation help people in other regions, as well? The world awaited the answer.
