Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the Asia and Europe (ASEM) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Spain, and visit EU headquarters and Slovenia.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying made the announcement on Thursday during a daily briefing.
At the invitation of Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Slovenian Foreign Minister Miro Cerar, Wang will attend the 14th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held in Madrid, Spain, visit EU headquarters and Slovenia from December 14 to 17, Hua added.
Held from December 15 to 16, the ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting will bring together foreign ministers from European and Asian countries, under the theme "Asia and Europe: Together for effective multilateralism."
The ASEM is an intergovernmental process established in 1996 to foster dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe.
