A commemoration ceremony was held on December 13, 2019, in Harbin Unit 731 museum to mourn the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, in which more than 300,000 Chinese were killed on this date 82 years ago, as well as to commemorate China's national memorial day.
Today, numerous Japan's wartime atrocities in the region are being remembered, and like the notorious unit 731 set up by the Japanese army in Harbin to develop Japan's biological warfare program, it conducted vivisection experiments on innocent people. Their ultimate goal was to develop Japan's biological warfare program. After the war, the Japanese government did very little to acknowledge Unit 731's atrocities, despite a large amount of evidence discovered at the site.
The newest evidence disclosed by Harbin unit 731 museum this time includes several pictures of Shiro Ishii - director of Unit 731, while he was in charge of the notorious biological warfare unit as well as testimonies from few Japanese veterans who have served in the Unit.
