China on Friday announced a phase one trade deal with the United States. The deal signified a breakthrough in a long-running trade dispute between the two countries. Among the key terms of the phase one deal are the reduction of some U.S. tariffs on Chinese products, an increase in China's purchases of American farm, energy, and manufactured goods, and initiatives to address U.S. complaints over intellectual property practices. What are the potential risks that could hamper the implementation of this deal? Professor Liu Baocheng from the University of International Business and Economics shares his insights on the potential risks.
