Los Angeles Lakers 101-96 Atlanta Hawks

The Lakers were struggling from the 3-point line from where they only made five shots at a rate of 16.13 percent. However, the team were dominant in the paint where their scoring led 54-34.

Trae shot down 30 points and seven assists, both the highest for Atlanta. Though the team did better than LA in 3-pointers as they buried 12 at a 3-point rate of 28.57 percent, their assaulting towards the rim was denied by LA's three-headed front-court monsters – JaVale McGee, Dwight Howard and Davis – again and again.

Charlotte Hornets 85-107 Indiana Pacers

So far Charlotte's longest winning-streak this season was three and they failed to extend it to four again in Indiana. Of the team's three promising young men, P.J. Washington was sidelined on Sunday; Devonte' Graham wen 3/18 to get 12 points; Miles Bridges missed eight of his 12 shots to score 10 points. Their performances should help you under stand why they only got 85 points.

Though the Pacers were also struggling with their shooting, especially their starting unit – the general field goal rate of them was 38.46 percent - Aaron Holiday contributed 23 points off the bench in high efficiency to help the team win. Besides, Doug McDermott who buried two 3-pointers in the game saw his 3-point rate rise to league No. 1 with 47.5 percent.

New York Knicks 105-111 Denver Nuggets

If you only watched the first half of the game, you might have thought it must be a blowout as Denver led 67-51 after the first two quarters. However, when the home team lost focus and began to make mistakes in the third quarter, New York suddenly ceased to muddle along to launch fierce counterstrike. They were even leading for several minutes in the last quarter.

Fortunately for the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic seemed to find his good game back. The 2019 First-Team center put down 25 points 10 rebounds and five assists to help his team win. This was already the third consecutive 20+10 game of his recently and the fifth 20+point game by him in the past six ones.

Orlando Magic 130-119 New Orleans Pelicans

J.J. Reddick made five 3-pointers at home, surpassing Rashard Lewis to rank No. 17 on the list of NBA career 3-point scoring leaders. Nonetheless, his efforts could not keep the Pelicans from suffering their 12th straight loss, which was already a new record in their franchise history.

Orlando saw eight of their nine-player roster score double-digit points but the irony was, the only one who did not get 10 points was their star player Aaron Gordon who missed 10 of his 13 shots.

Philadelphia 76ers 89-109 Brooklyn Nets

Joel Embiid sat on this game and his teammates immediately showed how important he is by being slaughtered by the Nets. Without Embiid protecting the paint for Philadelphia, Spencer Dinwiddie put up a facial dunk over Tobias Harris.

Excited Brooklyn fans did not let Ben Simmons go. Last season when Brooklyn were knocked out by Philadelphia in the playoffs, Jared Dudley called Simmons a great player in transitional offense but only an average one in position play. In Sunday's game, Brooklyn fans kept yelling Dudley's name when Simmons was shooting free throws and he missed them.

Sacramento Kings 100-79 Golden State Warriors

Golden State's hold of the league's bottom seemed as strong as their hold of the championship in the previous seasons. Sunday witnessed the team's 23rd loss this season after 28 games. By the way, their worst record since 2014-15 was 57-25 last season.

Though the Kings were the winning side, it's hard to praise them too much as they committed 27 turnovers. Buddy Hield put down 19 points four rebounds and four assists. Bojan Bogdanovic made nine of 11 attempts to get 25 points.
