The sense of real engagement is part of what it means to make a public object, said Anish Kapoor, speaking on CGTN's Icon. When people are looking at a huge public art object and asking questions such as, "What are we seeing? What is the subject? How big is it? Is it big or is it small? Can I take a selfie? How can I engage?" he is getting the reaction he wants. It's a very important process, he says. "Art is not a simple question. It's a question that penetrates the core of our being. Fundamental questions about spiritual life, physical life, communal life and our relationships with one another are all part of the conversation."
