Wuyishan City experienced continuous dry weather with significantly less precipitation as a result of the El Nino phenomenon from August to December 18. The total amount of precipitation in 140 days was only 94.8 mm, the lowest for the period since records began. In spite of this, the forest ecology of Wuyishan National Park has maintained its vitality.
The stream in the park was almost dry because it did not rain for a long time. The brook stones exposed to the sun appear gray, but the stones sheltered by the shade are a paradise for plant growth.
